I was walking in a parking lot here in the US, and I saw this beautiful red 944 that stuck out of the crowd of cars. when I was approaching it, I noticed that it was different from many regualr 944s. on the back right where it would normall say "944", "GT3" was written. this car had an interior with serious racing seats and instruments (boost gage, ect.). it had very nice low profile tires on with new rims. upon inspection of the front end, it was clear that this car had the turbo, i.e. smooth good looking, front end. it was obviously that it was a street car. it didnt have any race numbers or anything, and the tires were street tires. i have never heard of a 944 GT3 for road use. i was wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of the car that im talking about? also, is a car that the factory produced in small numbers, or did the owner just convert this car? thanks

bill

sounds a bit like a badge (and seat) engineering job......nice nonetheless

That’s funny Bill, because I go to college at Penn State and I see that car all the time, red 944 turbo, nice rims, says GT3 on the back. So I had to do an internet search because I also didn’t believe that Porsche made a 944 GT3, nothing came up but your post. Well you know how good those rich college kids are at making their cars seem better than they actually are since its not their money either. Next time I see him I’ll have to ask him to open the door so I can see the plaque on the sill. Don’t get your hopes up though.
