944 boot release level - would have to break before a trip :)

Hello,

I'm off on holiday in my 944 next Monday (5th) and today a friend slammed the hatch with a bit of vigour and the hatch now refuses to open. After some crawling around in the back I can see the lever that pulls the cable has snapped (see attached, its part 47), however no amount of pulling (with wife simultaneously unlocking with the key) will release the rear hatch.

Firstly, does anyone have a spare lever I can buy from them and post out to arrive before the weekend? I'm fairly sure the local OPC doesn't have one siting on the shelf and it is probably a special order - although I shall call anyway.

Secondly, does the cable require a herculean effort to pull enough or is there something else thats could be preventing the boot opening?

I know this doesn't make the car undrivable but loading a week's worth of luggage in and out throughout the doors each evening would become annoying.

Any help/ideas grateful received!

Thanks very much! I’ll have a look.

Design911 do one (albeit in the 968 section) that has the same part number so if all else fails they’re close enough to drive to. But £88!
