There have been a lot of stories in the press recently about security issues with "keyless entry" cars. Does anyone know if this refers to the type of unlocking where you just need the key fob/transponder close to the vehicle, or to the usual type of push-a-button-on-the-key (or fob) type of system?
I would have thought that the first type (I think Porsche call it 'entry and drive') would have been more secure as you need to be very close to the vehicle for it to work as the transponder has limited range whereas the normal type of remote has a large range meaning the signal could be picked up and cloned by somebody within range. Hm! :?:
