The McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder are two of the quickest supercars on the planet. But which is the fastest around the spectacular Anglesey Circuit? evo's Jethro Bovingdon attaches the timing kit and finds out....

McLaren once again, not happy that the 918 was quicker, and had to come back and try again.

On super slick tyre's apparently.

Hardly.

Trofeos are essentially Pirelli's equivalent to Michelin Cups (even down to the way that the tread pattern looks <erm> inspired by the original Cup). No idea whether they have a P1 specific compound, but they are street legal and available on the car from new if the buyer has no fear of aquaplaning...

The whole thing is only relevant to pub bragging rights anyway - they sold out all of the P1s a long time ago and I think that the 918 production is on or about spoken for now too. The LaFerrari was allegedly only even offered to people who had previously bought at least 5 top end cars from them in the past...

Ok then I misquoted. He uses the term 'super sticky' as opposed to super slick. Either way, the Trofeo's knocked over a second off the P1 time.
