Should I buy a 3.2?

Hi all,

Looking for some advice. I bought a Cayman S last year and caught the Porsche bug. I sold it shortly after as I was expecting to do more miles for work and took a company car instead.

Now I'm looking at a classic Porsche as a second car/investment/something to work on at the weekend.

Prices of these cars have rocketed recently and it's had to say what a good deal is now. I'm looking at this on Monday http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C510647# is it an ok deal? Spoken to them and seems to have a good history and will obviously get it checked first, but is £25k just too much?

No in the current market a fair price if a good one?

The A/C 911 are holding up well value wise.
If you look after it, spend money on its upkeep etc.
Things to ask and look for invoices for work done, service history.
Items overlooked on a 911 shocks, bushes, top end.

Then go and enjoy the car.

My advice is, don't buy an old clapped-out one.

Its the same as tying flowers in your hair and not washing. I just don't get it. Modern is better in my opinion

Except the modern one's have engines that self destruct from the inside out, there is a thread every week, That's the same as having clean flowery hair with nits underneath.

I would love another IB 911..they are the bomb!..as said many times they are all about the condition of the sub-structure!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

So is the consensus that £25k is OK if it's in good condition?

I will get a Porsche specialist to give it a full inspection before I decide to move on it.

Do a forum search for '3.2 rust' by username 'clarkycat'

I've wrote enough and can't be bothered to link to my own posts!
:hand:

I bought a £14k 3.2 with rebuilt engine and box and excellent interior. Turns out, when I got the right people to look at it, what I thought were a few blisters were £16k worth of bodywork and paint.

If you offered me a 3.2 or SC for FREE and it needed some bodywork doing, I would turn you down.

Having had to cost it up, if one of these cars that needs bodywork, trim, paint, mechanical work, then the car is worth the cost of that work, less if it is done well.
:nooo:

Buy absolute top end (your £25k is close, if it's had everything done then that is good) and get it to a classic Porsche place and leave it with them for a day and pay for them to look at it before buying.
