A full distributor refurb courtesy of Diddi. Looks an excellent job, turned around super quick and a fully photographed process.

Also got myself a precautionary new set of coils while they are on offer at design911 (half the price of OPC).

No - front & rear windscreens out & front scuttle. There's a little bubbling on a couple of the door strips and front & rear bumper need sorting. Oh and a small dent on the front o/s wing where i fell out with a car wash in Antibes last summer (don't ask!)

Also going to have RS air ducts.

Then my work is complete and she'll be to the standard I want.

Was also looking at some Rotiform Fucs - but at nearly £5k a set, I decided to buy another car! So I now have a W202 C43 AMG as a stable mate. Impulse buy, but worth it.

Great engine, but I hope the rust isn't as bad as my sadly departed W202.

Just got myself a Becker CDR 21 and a Nokia amp off e-bay.....I got a bit carried away on the bidding, but just wanted something to replace the Sony head unit currently in the car.

Fitted a new battery, the current spell of cold weather found the existing one (Bosch S4) struggling and eventually it would not hold a charge. The Bosch battery was fitted in 2009 by previous owner, almost 10 years ago. 👍👍
I chose a Varta silver E44HD, 77AH with a 5 year guarantee, £85.50 less discount, price £72.67. I can recommend this site as I have used them twice before, Battery Megastore UK (eBay) the price includes 24 hour DHL delivery if ordered Mon-Friday.

Contact spring and 2 copper rivets for the handbrake lever, considerably cheaper than a new lever, like £500 cheaper!

A nice paint refresh complete, together with some RS ducts. She was in good company...

Fitted the new plug leads today (not me - it was handed over to 9m for this).
Ended up fitting new Dizzy caps and rotors at the same time, and also had to fit a new cooling fan air duct - small hole.....

You won't be surprised to hear that it runs a little better now Smile

Amazing the difference cleaning the caps and rotors once in while does, I know it's a bit of a pain but well worth it

Well done on your replacements

TBH, after seeing the state of the rotor - I'm surprised the damn thing even ran at all!

Anyway - 9m took a good look and we had a chat afterwards. Everything is fine for now, but there are a few small oil leaks to deal with, so we've planned to drop the engine next November and have everything in that area sorted. I'm now at 110k so probably worth a top end re-build to ensure all the valve guides etc. are are good for another 100k

Mission creep again.....?

Coupla weekends back, but thought it was time to switch out that AirBox..

Some say they’re restrictive, others that they get the better Cooler Air further from the Engine, I just think it looks Bulky & Ugly.. Not to mention the gooseneck that directs the Clutch Dust towards the Intake Manifold..!

Increase in Horses..? Incidental.. Thumb

A faster costing 50p and a couple of shins for the new golden rod from FD Motorsports.

While in Porsche South London getting the first two bits I bought a dog collar!

I pulled the clutch vent pipe after doing plugs and leads. I used a wire guaze over the gearbox outlet and replaced the engine tin with a tiptronic one, plugged the airbox hole with one from a tip. also.
The 993 is the only 911 I'm aware of that has that clutch vent.
Kept the airbox not a fan of oiled filters.
The FVD sytem does look good though.
