A few nights ago I lost main beam (including the main beam indicator on the dash). The side and headlights are ok.
Checked the fuses and all seemed well.
So either both bulbs blew at the same time (unlikely but possible) or the steering column switch has failed (£260!).
Any thoughts?
Many thanks. _________________ 1990 964 C2 (manual) - a bit "Ruf"ed up

My money would be on the switch .. if the bulbs blow then the warning light for main beam will still work .. as this doesnt then i dont think power is getting through the switch.
I would start with either a voltmeter at the switch to confirm or try and clean the contacts .
Im not sure but either the 911 or the 964 had an issue with the switch contacts burning out on main beam and the fix was to wire in a relay . _________________ .
