bumper less and penniless

I am currently in the process of renovating my 1980 SC911 and as part of the work I wanted to shed some weight from the rear of the car. On Jan 9th I ordered and paid for one glass fiber rear bumper and two light weight aluminum bumper mount crush tubes from Specialist Vehicle Preparations, SVP in Worcestershire. I paid 75 pounds for 3 day delivery, which with customs clearance should normally take 10 days to make it across to Stavanger.

Jan 31st I finally received the bumper, poorly wrapped in only thin bin liner. Being unprotected it had been chipped badly in transport but nothing the paint shop couldn't deal with (at my cost). The bumper tubes were missing. SVP told me the bumper tubes were shipped in one box with the bumper (and thus protected), which I thought was very odd considering all the stickers on the bumper.

After a week of phone calls and e-mails back and forth I was told they had shipped a replacement set of bumper tubes Feb 7th. Strangely these never arrived either.... I was on the phone and e-mail with SVP several times enquiring after tracking number which I was told they were unable to give me because SVP use an shipping agent that use UPS but without a UPS tracking number.

The last development was on March 5th I when I received an apology, and a promise I would be refunded. In addition I would receive a set for free which I was happy with. However as per April 10th none of these happened, and SVP no longer seem to respond to my e-mails.

Since I first ordered the bumper tubes I have received spare parts from Australia, Germany, Greece, Netherlands and USA. I have 130 purchases on eBay, and it has been my experience shipments NEVER go missing and dishonest dealers are very rare.

I have had to accept I was ripped off, and I have now ordered a set of conventional steel bumper mounts from elsewhere. The £250 purchase price is bad, but it is worse is to have been delayed so badly with the car.

thanks for the advice. VISA managed to recover the payment.

Now I need to find a good quality rear bumper after the two first ones I received, one from the US and one from the UK, both have been relegated to the bin.
