Said to début in Paris later this month, power is expected to from the 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine currently seen in the 997, but – if rumours turn out to be true – it will be fed by three turbochargers rather than two. This set-up is currently in use in BMW's diesel-powered M Performance range to sharpen up low-end responsiveness.

...Anyone else recognise that petrol station...? I do, and I must have
spent a fortune there on fuel....and stickers !. That car is going to be
something else...no doubt a guided missile, and in ''basic form'' costing
north of £120k, with any decent specification £130k+...!!

Where does it say it'll be 600bhp. I thought it was going to be around 530?

I now know what it must be like to be a playboy bunny approaching her 22nd birthday...

Don't worry, think of all the steering feel they won't have...

I did instantly, then had it confirmed in a latter picture with the letters "NU...." visible 8)

600bhp in standard tune? The power leap is ginormous! 997.1 Turbo was 480bhp, 997.2 was 500bhp. Even the 997 Turbo S was 530bhp.

~ Maxie

600 is just an attention grabbing headline. Convention dictates a fairly modest gain to somewhere between 530 and maybe 550, but I would be very surprised (read upset) if it is any more than that. We may see bigger gains in torque but for the moment we, and the press, can only speculate...

I agree, I reckon it'll be 530ish. The new turbos/PDK setup/engine map will make it plenty quicker than the outgoing gen2 with a modest increase in bhp.

..And heading towards sub 3 seconds for the journalists favourite yardstick

2.9 for the 997 turbo s so I should very much expect sub 3 for the new one...
