997 to 991 conversion.....thoughts?? Unsure myself

I think it's nuts. Just write a paragraph across the back of the car in big letters and 9/10 people will think it is the new one.
IMO people do the 996-997 conversion because some don't like the GT1 style headlights, but the biggest difference between the 997 and the 991 is the writing at the back and extra 100mm wheelbase. No kit is going to address the second point.

So I would say it is a complete waste of money.

high questionable and for the price is excluding painting and fitting that would add another $10k

will await a picture of what it does when that is added to a Gen 1 997, since the profile of the 991 over the 997 is different...

Who on earth would want to do this.

Surely it's cheaper to just by some scrabble words and bluetak them to the back of your car!

They will be worth £25k in 12 months.....

Any news on the 991 to 997 conversion? :paperbag:

Just NO on every front. This kind of thing joins the list of things where you spend £X and actually lose more than £X as the asset they were applied to is subsequently worth less!

As to GT4's idea - at least it would be cheap: just some dental floss to remove the rear script, right?

I think give it about 20-30 years before anyone thinks that particular backdate is cool. There's so many examples now of eighties models backdated to seventies or earlier, many of which look excellent.

Err...

That kit is $24,999.00

Not quite.

Are we to assume that you drive an aircooled variant, and all later models cooled by the Devil's fluid look the same to you?

Your humour never ceases to amze me GT4 always have me in stitches :floor:

I don't see the point in that kit ? Even if you prefer the new 991 over the 997 and you have £24k burning a hole in your pocket what's the point it's not that far removed! I'd rather spend the money on some nice BBS wheels an drive through the French alps with change

On the other hand if you have a ***** ...... Lol
