Hi
I sold my 996 turbo a year or so back and want to get into another Porsche....

I have seen this car at my local auctions, but have not got a clue what spec or model it is.
if it is standard or has been changed with regards to the bucket seats.

The car's sticker says 1967 PORSCHE N4 911 NONE 3164cc

I have taken a couple of pics

i know it's been imported, and have no idea of the value or what to bid.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Tim

Someone has been trying to 'modernise' it with 964 bumpers....

Could be good, but doesn't look it from here.

£5.73 ?

I did notice it had a GT3 badge on the rear and has carrera written down the side ??????????

I looks very clean, but why you would add later style bumpers is beyond me...

Possibly a story to tell there.

Any more help welcome.

Funny they also had this old spider going through as well

Definitely earlier than a 964 which it looks a 'bit' like. Appears to have a 3.2 engine (from the spec) and has the old 915 gearbox, probably no power steering, in an impact bumper body (with 964 bumpers), missing the drivers wing mirror.

Personally it looks like a bit of a mongrel in terms of what it's trying to be, but who knows what it's like mechanically and what the body work is actually like under the recent colour change.

If you're coming from a 996 Turbo, it will feel agricultural! I'd look for a nice sorted 964 as these seem great value at the moment.

Probably typo on the year. Not a 67 but 1987 3.2 converted to 964 look. I've seen it done a couple of times both forward dating and backdating.
3.2's are beautiful looking cars and should be left as is.

Richard the third. And they say never polish one.

It is a real mess, a nothing car...it has a duck tail, gt3 badge...964 bumpers, messy inside. Horrible and you will really struggle to move it on. If it looks that bad on the outside god knows what it's had done to the bits you can't see.

Summary: steer well clear.

Someone just suggested to get a well sorted 964....Great advice. I spent Sunday morning with a load of them, sound awesome, look great and good value.

Many, Many Thanks

Think i will give it a miss.

Comming from a 996 your right in terms of dated etc.
It just cought my eye, but in reality when advise is given and it is all the same to stay well clear.

Thanks once again.
i do miss my 996

Impact bumpers are mega money. The bumper part is laminated aluminium and corrodes badly, each bumper is £600 new, then there are the impact rubbers, the black plastic trim, the black plastic 'smile', the overriders, the steel valances and sides, the fog lights, the impact dampers...

The front and rear end cost were the cherry on the cake that stopped my 3.2 resto from happening.

Even if you are lucky enough to find good used uncorroded (metal) and unsplit (rubber/plastic) items then it would cost a lot to put back.

Would have been cheaper for me to have done 964 bumpers, but I was not into doing that to my 3.2.

Moved from 993 forum since this is not a 993 and is an Early 911 :dont know:

do you have a link to the local auctions you mention, that will help as I think I recognise that car :?: and may have further details if you've got the link or auction details

Very interested in the car, since I've seen it around for many years, further current details would be very useful

Everything you could need to know about the car can be found at
http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/

it was one of their project cars
http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/bcatal..._galleries_porsche_project_customers_cars.php

about half way down the page, which lists the car's complete history
