Hi folks,

I'm a complete newbie here - 1st post, and not a great start for me.

I've had my Cayman S (57 plate, first Porsche for me !) for 3 months now and yesterday someone decided to hand draw a racing stripe down the passenger side with a key. In short, I left it for just over an hour and it was keyed along the passenger door and rear panel.

Mad

Apparently I'm not allowed to get all 'vigilante' and hunt down this waste of skin oxygen thief, so I'm just going to get the car fixed and install a Rottweiler in the passenger seat.

My question is if anyone here has used Chips Away for work of this type and if so, what did you think ?

Thanks in advance,

Jules Mad

From what I have seen of smart repairs you may just about be able to get away with a scuffed pu corner or similar but the side of a car?...Sorry but no that will need a proper paint job.

Sorry to hear that. nooo

If it's deep then a friendly bodyshop is your only option. Depending upon where it's been keyed they may be able to blow over just that area using and natural panel shapes or changes so as not to completely respray.

Depending where you are based you could try http://www.dentwizard.co.uk as they are reasonably priced and have a sealed painting booth at the head office. Otherwise I use http://www.bromsgrovebodyrepairs.co.uk.

Get a camera installed in the car too. Thumb

Hi and welcome, shame your first post could not have been a happier one.
I wouldn't recommend smart repair for something like this.
If you're in the N Wales/Chester area try www.wilsonsaccidentrepaircentre.co.uk ask for Paul.

All the best
