Jim,

I have a CDR23, Bose amp and CDC4 changer available.

the radio has been decoded to 'delivery mode', which means that it will pair with your car when you install and switch on the ignition.

The amp, (Bose MOST), and CD changer will, I am led to believe, need coding to your vehicle once installed, (OPC or other specialist).

they are from a Jan 2003 996 turbo SO PLEASE CHECK THEY ARE COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR 99 MY if you want to proceed.

I have a feeling that the CDR23 may NOT be compatible with a 99MY, but stand to be corrected

If you're interested I can email pics of the units and the labels on them to make sure they are compatible with your car.

PM me if you want pics or more info

I'm not looking to make a fortune on selling them, would rather they get used somewhere.

PP, your's will be a CDR32

A '99 996 will not know what to do with a MOST system.

Nope, it's definitely a CDR23, (p/n 996.645.129.02, typ CDR 23, Model BE 6612) just checked the pics,

but I think you're right bout the MOST bit

Apologies, I was put off by the OP (who seems to have accidentally misquoted my advice from here: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=69500)

The OP should have said they are looking for a "CDR22 or CDR32"

I just knew "the other one" (your one) was incompatible.

Only CDR22 or CDR32 are compatible with nonMOST systems.

nonMOST CD changer is the CDC-3

CDR23 is MOST and requires the MOST CDC-4 (as you state)

thanks all

PP - thanks for the offer, but as GT4 syas, these will not suit
GT4 - thanks again for the input
Blue Eyez - thanks for pointing me to the e-bay items - i will probably buy the first one

Many thanks all

Half a dozen on eBay ATM.

Give PorschApart a bell too (beakers):

ebay radios

they are, but the CD versions are £199 from what i have seen - and i think this is too expensive
there is one CR version for £100, but would prefer the CDR
managed to pick up a changer for £30 from the US, and as i will be there at end of month, will just bring back with me - looked into the radios, but don't think a US radio will work in UK

Not sure what you are searching on, but I was looking for CDR-22 and CDR-23 in the auctions (it's still an auction site AFAIK)

And in the auctions they are running circa £15, join the fun and see what you get!

Irrespective, you asked where to get one, now you've moved the goal posts to require one cheap, which might not be possible without effort.

If at least one person who can't get one can bid to £100 or £200 for each example on sale, well that is the market price (that or they are the committed parties you need to beat to the early worms).

996 radio

well i've searched ebay, and there is one starting at £14.99 - the other sitting at £12.50 is non operational

the other needs to be a CDR32 (non MOST) and i can't find any on ebay

Perhaps my mobile app is glitching.

But my advice still stands: join the bid or keep your eyes peeled for early bargains.

Have you called PorschApart yet?

996 radio

i will keep looking for one "reasonably priced"
thanks again for the help
jim

Hi, i have the one you want CDR-32 mint condition, took it out of my Y2000 C2 and changed it to a becker grand prix with ipod connection. I kept hold of the CDR-32 and the CD changer just in case i needed them. I've now updated to a 997 C4S so won't be needing them.

You could make me an offer :D
