hi
today I was driving home from seeing family when I saw a 991 going the Other way at a rate of knots
I didn't even know they where out yet I know you can test drive one but there was not a local Porsche dealer
?

Embargo ended on Saturday 17th December, and the first batch of pre-orders (many upto a year or more since letters or intent), rolled out of the showrooms with their proud new owners.

I saw one yesterday outside the Nottingham Forest football ground.

I had to look hard to spot the difference so going to an OPC tomorrow to take a closer look.

Can't wait to see one in the flesh! :)

Well if we're playing Top Trumps, I drove one last Monday :p

(I'll let you pay for the initial depreciation though, as I won't be buying one for some time, good luck though :thumb: )

Mine will be low miles and availible in feb march 2014
what were your opinions of 991 ?

Keep up at the back :puh:

What is the deal with the test drives?

I've never bought a prestige car from a dealer before, so have no idea of the protocol.

They obviously want to discourage people just test driving them just for fun with no intention of buying, but if I'm driving all the way to Tonbridge, I may as well have a go.

From the pictures I'm not sold on it, but I've felt like that about other cars in the past.

 .....that's an eye watering amount for anything other than a GT3/2

You can write-off £20k(at least) of that in year 1 alone and £50k over three years!

In twelve years it'll still only be worth £20,995 in someone's wetdream.

Walk in (with driver's licence in back pocket), advise sales exec of vehicle you wish to drive.

Never been more complicated than that.

Having said that, ideally don't go wearing last week's wife-beater - put a nice clean one on :thumb:

If were talking sales, mine will also be for sale in 2014, one private owner, only used on dry days, low miles and driven by a (in 2014) 69 year old steady driver :D

So CHUNKSTAR or Rimmer?

There's only way way to find out!

And that's a market based system of trade where the seller places their goods into the public domain and through an equitable process of evaluation based on quantity and grade of the asset's defining factors, tempered by the envelope of supply and demand characteristics, price discovery occurs. Thusly producing a de facto value at that point in time.

You two keep fighting amongst yourselves and pushing the price down, and the rest of us prospective "pre-owned" buyers will be happy.

Just so you know, I'll have the blue one :thumb:
