Whilst taking my '71 911 for the MOT this morning, it died and lost all power.

I checked the voltage @ the coil terminal 15 and it seemed to be erratic.

I checked the voltage down to earth from the centre terminal and this was zero leading me to think it has failed.

Has anyone had one refurbished? Porsche are quoting £1600 for a replacement!

you mean CDI ?

Post on DDK. There is someone ( impmad) who can repair them for you

Not cheap are they !!! hence why Tim on DDK does a good buisiness in fixing them.

Ian.

cheers guys, I made further checks earlier and I'm still not sure if it is the CDS.

I will look up the guy on DDK, though the site appeared to be down earlier
