Note the apparent "detent" indication on the "7" dog-leg (ie push down to engage, like reverse)
 
That's nice, although it does remind me of a VW Amarok gear lever (shape).

I like manual sportscar as it is more involving than any auto (some call PDK others call DSG etc...). I just wonder whether the new 7 speed will be a core to live with rather than a joy! :?:
 
The new seven-speed manual, will have a fairly conventional shift pattern: Reverse is up and to the left, gears one through six in a conventional three-up/three-down arrangement, and seventh up and to the right.

There's an electronic lockout on selecting seventh gear unless you're already in fifth or sixth, so no 4-7 shifts are permitted in the manual.
 
That looks like it's out of a FFFffffrrrench car!!


Time to choose the quicker option guys... :thumb:
