2009 Porsche 997 Carrera 2S

PostPosted: Sun Sep 17, 2017 4:08 pm    Post subject: All mods done, what next? Reply with quote

I've had my 997.2 C2S for just over 2 years now. What a great time it's been too.

Having never modified a car before, I've since done the following:

    Zunsport Mesh Grilles
    PSE retrofit
911 Decal replace Carrera S badge
    H&S Centre Silencer bypass
    Carnewal PSE Switch
H&R Lowering Springs (+Top mounts and bearings)
Front Bumper number plate holes filled and re-sprayed
Console Lid covered in Leather and embossed
    15mm spacers all round
    Updated steering wheel fitted
    Full geometry setup
Wheels refurbished and black powder coated and black wheel bolts

The last item on my list is to get the PSE tips painted semi-gloss black which I'll send off next week after my MOT. I'm also undecided on window tinting.

What next?

Looks immense! Did the springs effect adversely the ride/practicality etc?

Tints to the maximum allowable in law (35%?) are necessary here in Australia and look great. My car is metallic black as well. Highly recommend it even in blighty if only for the look.

I've been trying to find the answer to this question that no one seems to know. What % do the 997.2 cars come with from factory

Looks fantastic, the stance is perfect, I would look for a subtle front splitter to finish it off and I like a front number plate, looks wrong without one.

Go and drive the wheels off it!

Track day?
Driver training?
Drift school?

I've been doing that very same thinking the last past week and you know what I've almost done with mods to the best of my knowlege, and the only things I want is a complete Bilstein suspension, new springs, wheel spacers, BUT first I'm currently looking into an IPD Plenum with a GT3 throttle body... and i think I'm done!!!!

I'm not sure that you are ever finished with modifications...

I don't know what tyres you're running, but you could always use a second set of lightweight rims and sticky tyres (at least until the winter comes).

You might also consider some bucket seats

And the TPC Racing DSC module is a good option (assuming you have PASM).

As to the cosmetics, you could run matte black shadow stripes - either along the sides or over the top...
