We know of course all the Cayenne Hybrid and there will soon be a hybrid Panamera. According to Heinz-Jakob Neusser, head of driving development for Porsche, the Boxster, Cayman and 911 will have a hybrid technology option.

Although this is something at the moment Porsche rather flatly deny!

According to Neusser it is necessary that Porsche switching to hybrid technology to reduce consumption across the range. Incidentally (or fortunately?) it is not known when hybrid versions of the 911 and Boxster / Cayman are expected.

We do know that the hybrid 918 Spyder is in production.

To reduce the consumption of its models, the carmaker Porsche plans hybrid engines for all models. First, in 2011, the Panamera using the technique of the already available Cayenne Hybrid will be equipped, reappointed manager of the manufacturer. Thus, the Panamera could drive thanks to its smaller frontal area, but about twice as much electric, said Heinz-Jakob Neusser, director of the Porsche-driving development. Then, the sports car would turn. "Only when we switched to all models, we do not tell now."

The first Porsche sports car with hybrid drive, it will be the one established in the spring at the Geneva Motor Show featured 918 RS Spyder, which is to be produced in a small series. With a 368 kW/500 hp V8 petrol engine and four electric motors together with 160 kW/218 hp to reach the hybrid Spyder in 3.2 seconds speed 100 and a top speed of 330 mph.

Because the operator can charge the battery in the 918 at the socket and drive the vehicle about 25 kilometers of pure electric, the CO2 emissions lies with 70 g / km level on small cars, said Neusser. "In this project we also learn much that we can use for our other sports car out of the mass."

Indeed, I'm hoping she isn't a hybrid too or I'm going to feel a little bit queasy about the semi I'm nursing.
