A screen shot from Porsche's European configurator that shows the next generation of the Cayenne SUV has been making the rounds on numerous internet forums today. Word has it that the 2011 Cayenne was accidentally uploaded on the configurator but was removed quickly after it was discovered.

And even though mistakes of the same sort by other automakers have occurred in the past, we're fully aware of the fact that photoshop can be a sly mistress if you know you way around so we won't hastily jump into conclusions about its authenticity.

Either way, it won't be long before Porsche officially lifts the wraps off the new Cayenne SUV that's scheduled for a world premiere at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

The New Porsche Cayenne, Revealed In A Teaser...

Story continues.....

Porsche unveiled the new Cayenne in a nonconformist way: a picture that shows in the foreground another world premiere, the competition hybrid 911 GT3 R.

The first picture of the new Porsche Cayenne did not came in an official photo gallery as the world's auto makers accustomed us, but in an interesting teaser which at first sight could be overlooked. In a picture posted on the official website of the German brand, the Cayenne is betrayed by the headlights from behind a GT3 R Hybrid model that Porsche bring to Geneva, along with the bran's new SUV.

After a closer look, facilitated by an easy photo processing, the shapes of the new Porsche Cayenne are coming out on the surface. From what can be seen in the first picture of the German model, it comes with a 'cleaner" front look and revised air intakes.

Being the skeptical type, and in my opinion the configurator images look a little p'shopped (the Cayenne looks a different resolution, different ray traced light source and looks the wrong scale or "perspectively" challenged - all very slight. Besides, the other models weren't exactly posing on the salt flats in reality either).

So I looked up the GT3 R Hybrid image here:

and dropped it into PhotoEditor and Digital Image Suite cheapy p'shop-a-likes.

And amazingly it is there
