Got a boosting problem with my car it is only boosting to .5 bar , i think this is the limp mode limit but i have no check engine lights. The car was fine boosting to 1.3 bar 2 days ago since then it has been on stands in the garage getting new adjustable suspension arms fitted, put it back on the ground today and went for a short run and now im only getting .5 bar will go to .6 if you feed the power in slowly.

Dont know about your main problem but no 'normal' TT should be boosting to 1.3 bar. 0.7 is usually the max on a standard car.

Sorry should have said car isnt standard. It has K24's, gt2 coolers, manifolds, miltek exhaust,AP intake and mapped with a 1.3 bar spike that drops to 1 bar.

well tried a rest with dissconnecting the battery and still no luck, does anyone know if these cars have a failsafe boost limit if a sensor fails.
The car drives fine just wont give more than .5 bar of boost, im going to make a leak tester tomorrow and hopefully get it plugged in to Duramatic later on in the week.

On the standard Turbo, the boost limit is set to 0.4bar if there is a failure. They may have upped that when it was re-chipped. You need to get the codes read to be able to know what's going on for sure. Sounds like a pressure leak, or wastegate actuator to me.

If you are anywhere near me, I'd be happy to plug in the tester for you.

Thanks for the offer Richard but im up near St Andrews in Scotland, im going to do a leak test tonight then get it plugged into a mates Durametric later this week.

Interesting... I have a similar symptom. Mine boosts to 0.4 but no higher (that I've noticed, at least). The thing is, the local Porsche specialist has checked the error codes and it's clean, so no way it should be in limp home mode. He also confirmed he's seen a lot with these kind of boost levels and that I shouldn't worry about it.

Any thoughts? I'd imagine the specialist knows a damn sight more than I but curious if the consensus opinion is that I should be getting closer to 0.7 or 0.8...

Everything else seems normal - no lump idle or any erratic behaviour at all, so it's just the boost question.

TIA.

Looks like the MAF sensor went down and put the car into limp mode. I got a shot of a code reader and pulled the codes P1250 and P0102, P1250 reset so unplugged the MAF and the car was making normal boost . I also did a leak test from the inlet and it is holding 1.5 bar, so new sensor tomorrow and hopefully it will be sorted.

P0102 is the fault code for the MAF sensor. Strange it didn't turn the PSM off.

P1250 is usually thrown up by a pressure leak, or sticking actuator. It may have been there for a while and the two codes aren't related.

Hopefully the new MAF will fix it.

Well, I can definitely confirm that PSM is up and running on mine - it kicked in big time at the weekend

But it does leave me wondering WTF?!

Well the car is now running fine with the maf sensor fitted, what i am still getting is a P1250 code up while i have the AP intake fitted. I have done some back to back testing with the ap intake, clearing codes and fitting the standard box with it fitted im not getting any codes up.
