Extended warranty transfer

Can an extended warranty be transferred to a new owner free of charge and hassle free? I thought that I had read somewhere that this cannot be done?
 
I only have details of the old warranty, but Yes a new 'private' owner could take the remaining time left on the warranty, there is a page in the booklet that you fill the details in.
I'd assume its the same with the new one, if selling to the trade then its not transferable
