Here are yet more spy pics of the 2010 Porsche Cayenne SUV, and this time our intrepid spies have snapped the new cars rather awkward-looking rear end, and scribbled up this rendering to show it off too.

Estimates so far reckon that the revised Cayenne will be around 4cm shorter than before, with around 2cm being trimmed from its height, and the emphasis this time is on even more physics defying on-road performance – think top speeds in excess of 180mph for some versions.

It will be built on a platform that underpins the next VW Touareg and Audi Q7 too, but expect these cars to hit the market after the Cayenne, as Porsche now has enough control of the VW Group to decide what launches first.

As before, the Cayenne will be offered with V6 and V8 petrol engines with improved direct injection, and that Audi turbodiesel. A hybrid version based on the diesel car is also expected shortly after the new Cayenne is launched.

Powertrains will be the same as before too, but the Tiptronic auto will be swapped for the firm's new PDK double clutch gearbox.

Looking at the spy shot of the interior one can see a major update coming within the interior with simililarities to its bigger brother car the Panamera which means lots more buttons and a shift lifter positioned higher for better driving comfort.

The Cayenne itself does not appear to have as much as a slope in with the new control unit as the Panamera does.

Surrounding the shift lifter on both sides are a plethora of buttons for the driver, which should include window controls, lock controls, and controls for the navigation unit just to name a few. Controls for the dual climate buttons appear to be positioned underneath the navigation unit.

Above the shift lever there appears to be a MMI like control knob although we cannot confirm this addition. It would though seem likely since the Audi Q7 features this piece of technology already. Overall the positioning of the controls gives the interior a more sexy, sporty, and streamlined look.
