at the moment? Having sent the 993 to a far far better place way beyond the reach of Congestion Ken, my current insurers have now decided they don't want to insure it because it is not living with me, despite the fact that it is now kept in an alarmed garage in one of the least crime ridden areas of the UK with someone around to keep an eye on it pretty much 24/7.

Privilege have offered me £285 on line but it is what they don't cover that worries me, plus the fact that they hit you harder in subsequent years to make up for a cheap initial quote.

Competitive UK Porsche Car Insurance ?

£285!!!!! Where's the emoticon for "grab it and run"

Switched from Privilege and got surprising lower quotes from both Direct Line and Aplan for my 911, although the renewal quote from Privilege was not too bad, the lower Aplan quote was the winner :) with a figure of £700 but I did get some silly quotes from these price comparison sites which is always worth doing for a laugh, I think Admiral quoted something like £5k !

I switch between Admiral and Elephant every year and they always beat my renewal quote (even though they operate from the same building and have the same owner - they still compete more aggressively than any other firm for my business).

As it is garaged and assuming you do under 5k miles pa, I would try Hagerty - they were laughably cheap for mine...

I had a quote from Swiftcover, came it at £600 on tesco compare. Which raised to £680 once I adjusted the cover to my requirements on swift cover's site. Still not so bad eh? Ithought was good for an 03 C4s in Cheshire with business use and me being 34.

I did call AON as recommended by this forum... they were like £1700!!!

So I'm going with swift cover.

In these costly times saving on car Insurance is always a pleasure :D

I recently renewed with ESure. £510 but the deal clincher was that they didn't require me to renew my Tracker subscription saving another £130. I hate the idea of a Tracker.

Is it classic Insurance you're after, ie under 5k miles per year and an agreed value, if so let me know and I'll dig out the details for mine, a specialist broker using Equity Red Star

Word of warning re Admiral/Bell/Elephant - all of that group, unless they've changed their policies recently, DONT cover your extras, yes, that's right all of those expensive extras put on the car when new are NOT covered, BUT they do charge extra for it!! So they charge extra but only replace a standard vehicle!

I did well with More>Than (Royal Sun Alliance) initially, but when I my Barrister son told me I should own up re the Performance Mods, I went to Adrian Flux ( I wasnt "fluxed" :floor: too much) and its now with Norwich Union, with not too much of a hike.
Big Bob :bye:
