hi all, need to ask if anybody can give me a clue. I am Brit living in Dubai and 3 motnhs ago bought a 2000 model GT 3 in Artic Silver - 1 owner, 50k kilometers, regularly serviced, brand new Michelin Pilots and very well looked after. everything is excellent, except when cornering there is a shudder through the steering wheel, as if the tyre is rubbing on the inner arch. before i take it to the doctor, wondered if anybody can help.

Welcome

How much has it been lowered and what size wheels/tyres are you on?

hi Dave, thanks for the response. it has been lowered, and probably has another 10mm to go. tyres front are 245 - front and 285 - back.

245 up front! Have you had the arches rolled? That's 20mm wider than standard, with increased -ve you're pushing it with 235.

You may be right, i will check on the front tyres. i have had the Porsche specialist check here and he seems to think that there isn't anything wrong, but i can't help but wonder if there is something more dramatic, but at high speeds on the straight there isn't a hint of wobble or shudder.

You should be able to see any tyre rubbing quite easily by inspecting the tyres, arches, and also wheels if need be. If there are no signs of rubbing, I would suggest taking it to the doctor to check the bushes/suspension as you are looking for free play/movement under lateral loads.
