Hi, I have the PSE (or I think I have- either that or a hole in the exhaust). And was wondering if I can fit the Kit Gerts at carnwal sells to deactivate it when I want to go into stealth mode with a switch.

It was discussed on another thread and Damian kindly offered to identify whether or not I had the muffuler acctuator if I posted a shot of the right hand side of the engine bay.

Also I guess even with PSE on its not load enough to be a problem at Bedford is it?

Thanks

I run a switchable PSE and at Bedford, where they run a static test with a limit of 98db it was bang on the 98db with it off and 109db with the sports exhaust on!

So it does need to be switchable.

Can't help with the photo though.

Yep, that's the actuator! You'll have everything from this to the relay, the wiring from the relay to the switch will be missing.

Talk/email Gert to see what you need as the retro-fit kit he offers has the actuator, relays etc obviously a lot of bits you don't need.

Simply speaking, you'll need a switch, from the switch 3 wires will head toward the relay board, on the relay board there will be:

1. on (pin A7 on relay)
2. variable lighting (indicator) (A4)
3. ground (A2)

On the PSE relay (996.618.980.03) mounted on the board, just make sure you disconnect the 'speedo' wire (pink/grey A6) so that you can properly switch the PSE, no cutout during the 35-50mph range
