People would certainly be asking - why did you do that? But horses for courses, a cheap way to get into a 997.

That's exactly my point...I mean surely there can't be many 996 owners who would fool themselves (and others) into thinking they have got a half price 997 just by changing the nose......I just can't see the point. After all, I have yet to see a kit offered for a 993 where owners can have a 996 look - I mean I just don't think it would happen.

Don't reckon its such a bad idea, espec given how cheap the early 996s are coming down to now - pick up a duff colour in the early 20s, £2k for this kit, another £2k to fit and spray and you'll have a nice-ish looking 997 for about £25k.

As long as you don't mind losing the £5k on the kit and the painting, don't think it will devalue the car any more than it would ordinarily, espec if you kept it a few years.

Before I got mine I was looking at doing a facelift on an early 996 if I could find a reasonable Cat-D - I reckon this idea is as feasible.

My 2p obviously :)

Why would any 993 owner do this? A facelift is meant to improve the looks

Hi,

A well known Porsche Specialist had a C4 which had a full Turbo body put on it. Apparently cost circa £20,000. It was a nice looking car but why?????

the problem with such ebay auction is the quailty of parts, a cheap deal can turn into an expensive nightmare when it doesnt fit
