Hi everyone. I was wondering if you could look on your V5 Document and tell me if the Document states that you have a ''911 Carrera 4S' or if it's just listed as a '911 Carrera 4'

I'm looking at buying one which I only have the right hand side of the V5 and it just says '911 Carrera 4'

Many thanks.

Next to 'Model Type' it says '911 Carrera 4S'

Cheers, does it say that on the right hand side on the Green section 10?

Thanks Damian. What year is yours? I have been told that the early C4S's have just '911 Carrera 4' (i.e. early 2002's). Can anyone else confirm this?

Ta

Hi Paul,

Mine's a MY2003, October 2002 car.

I'm sure someone will be along to confirm that is the case with early 2002 cars. 'Faking' a C4S is going to be a difficult undertaking.

Damian

Very true, but I'm concerned about the validity of the V5

indeed, wide body and completely different rear end over a C4....

remember the DVLA are normally at fault with badly Documented V5's, as i've seen HGV and Diesel Porsche's according to V5's!

I don't have a C4S but according to the V5 I have a Carrera C2 LPG.
I wonder if I can avoid the congestion charge now :)

DVLA quite often make mistakes. Perhaps get the chassis number and call Porsche GB at Reading, call Reading OPC and they will give you the number for HQ. I have been told that they are very helpful with queries like this and will tell you of any other history.

You could also enquire with DVLA along the lines of if you buy the car, can you have a correction. I have done this before albeit on a mistake for a brand new car first time V5 error.

Are you buying privately or through a dealer?

I'm buying from a dealer, after various RAC HPI checks, I have got to the bottom of things I think. Looks like HPI had the wrong chassis number by 2 digits. Also complicated by cherished number transfers etc.

I will advise DVLA of the mistake in due course but it definately says 911 Carrera 4 not 4S.

Thanks for all your help on this one!
