Is there any difference between the 2 whatsoever?

All the 'stats' are the same, only difference appears to be Boxster is a soft top and the cayman isnt. Oh and the price :?

My curiosity is piqued...

The Cayman is supposed to be significantly stifffer and therefore should corner better. Is the Cayman not lighter - I just assumed it would be?

Does the stiffer chassis actually translate to any real difference on the ground?

In terms of driving ability = yes.

For me - I'd have the Boxster and specify the hardtop anyway. I am still not taken by the Cayman's looks. I saw the latest Boxster S at the Porsche Centre in Leeds this morning that appeared to have every conceivable extra on it.....£49,995!!! The alloys were unlike anything I have seen before, a kind of 10 spoke design and finished off in a dark grey colour. Though I am sure if it did have every extra possible, it would be a lot more.
