Test drove a SY GT3 at OPC today and it was very nice. Was very tempted but for a late 2003 car I would have been the 5th owner and the drivers door was a different colour yellow. Most likely had been repainted due scratches as the car was fine otherwise. Car was excellent otherwise so dont know whether I am trying to talk myself into it or away from it.

Any idea who the owners were - anyone we know?

How many miles and price? Doesn't sound like you are too keen. I would find the door really annoying.

no idea on owners, its on a 53 plate, first couple of owners a few months, one for just under 2 years and latest for 6 months.

Looks in excellent condition from outside ( except door) and would have RAC inspection and opc warranty. really bugging me the door.

Was the door done by a Porsche bodyshop?

they did not know of it - i just happened to notice it. colour match was noticeable. so I doubt it.

I know sometimes colours change over time in the sun etc so not always easy to match 100%, but whoever did this did not get it right.

Hi Admin

Was not Hatfield and it did have air con, but at 55 k ish I would have liked it spot on.

They told me that they have someone else interested and another OPC franchise wants to purchase it for a client - they wont know about the door colour.

So tempting if the door was ok.

If it fully checks out, why not make them an offer conditional on them fixing the door colour? And warranting the work?

With regards to inpsection I wouldn't imagine that an RAC inspection will find much wrong as its an OPC car and hence will have tyres with good tread etc.

I'd reckon you'd be better with a 911 (GT3 familiar) specialist to do your PPi.

Hatfield now my local OPC - something I should know about before I book in for service apart from having zillions of people working in glass rooms and being so huge it even sounds like a shopping mall?

Sounds like you'd like a GT3 but just not that one. At least you now have an idea what they're like and you can start looking for a decent one. £55k + OPC, I'd want it to be pretty perfect!

Richard, do you like Polar Silver, Carbon buckets, techquip cage and Alcons?

I was looking more for the comfort than sport model as I would be using it more road than track. However, for the right car, well looked after and price I am open to any GT3.

mine is a comfort, its just got the buckets instead of the armchairs :D

if you are seriously interested we should talk as I am looking at RS's and will be test driving one very soon!

If it did not have the door issue, plus I would be 5th owner of car just over 3 yrs old ( expect quite a few owners but not that quick), I would be trying to decide whether just to buy it or finance it. It was very nice otherwise.
