Hi

My 1988 Porsche 3.2 carrera, when depressing the clutch on tickover, the car revs to 2000 RPM, blip the throttle and it returns back to tick over speed. seems only to happen if you press the clutch, has any one any ideas, could it be the pedals picking up on a common shaft, or could it be one of the sensors in the engine, any ideas

hi dave it sounds like the linkage which is on the side of the gearbox is sticking you can undo the balljoint which comes from the front of the car and spray some wd40 on the pivot whilst moving the cable .if all else fail you will have to remove the pivot and give it a clean and maybe fit new bushes
