Sorry havent been abe to sit in one with PCM2 yet, indie today said they dont do post codes and are crap....I wondered if those who use the PCM2 in anger can tell me if it is actually any good as satnav system, or am I just as well sticking me tomtom in one?

thanks

PCM2 does'nt use post codes - but as for crap? I'd have to disagree - mines been faultless in the almost 2 years I've had it, unlike the TomTom - renamed Sh*teSh*ite I had it on a PDA that after 2 upgrades (that were in fact severe downgrades) and after countless email traffic with their customer service lot,I gave up the ghost with. Like all technology, its out of date as they are bolting it in.

Most on here agree that the retro fitting anything to do with PCM2 is a massive waste of money. If your car ticks all the right boxes and doesnt have PCM2, then there are brilliant aftermarket products at a fraction of the Porsche prices

I have an 06 plate car with PCM 2 I think and you can use post codes. However, even the OPC didn't know how to use it and had to phone Germany....

When you are entering data in 'town' type the post code instead of town name. It doesn't run to the full, I think it will let you go as far as GU21 1.... but not any further so will get you to the locality. not great but it does work to an extent.

I have used a TomTom with postcodes for 2 years without any problem and it is brilliant.

Yep. I love my TomTom. Can even watch movies on it now (not while driving obviously!)

tomtom is very good,

however have never faulted my pcm 2, other than it isnt possible to input post codes.
