Whilst my car is being done Rads, service etc, (fingers crossed on the rads front) I have been lent a Cayenne S, the V8 4.5 350bhp model,

Nice to with 700 miles on the clock when I picked it up this morning.

First, it is a lot of car for the money.

Not as fast as I expected, (our 3litre X3 was as quick in gear)

very thirsty

very nice inside, however Porsche just dont do all the extras like BMW, the X3 sat nav was better, the leather better quality (ambient), the stereo better, the controls on the str wheel better.

to drive the Cayenne is a big and comfy 4x4, it handles the roads like a car, and is easy to drive, however it feels huge.

Would I buy one, probably .

goes in for a service at the end of the month. I get a loan car when mine, am hoping for a Cayman. Wouldn't mind a Cayenne though.

I like them, don't suppose you know what it can tow?

I had one when mine went in for some warramty work, but the basic 3.2 V6 and although it was nice place to be inside and well put together from what I could tell

I found it way too slow (I had trouble keeping it with normal traffic unless I booted it) and thirsty (I was getting low teens without trying very hard!)

I think I'd only buy the Turbo!

Good luck with the rads Daz......

Chris from the size of it, it can tow small counties,

Scott, Cheers

BTW,

You get a lot more metal/plastic/leather in a Cayenne for £55k than you get in a 911 for £70k

Porsche must make a fortune on every 911 they sell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently 4 points to every 1 for a Cayenne!

Big bucks if you look at the Porsche bottom line!

Oh no not the

Bottom Line

What is the bottom line anyway, and how the hell did they go from almost broke in 1994 to the most profitable car company in the wold a decade later :?

Indeed, the fairly basic one I got seemed to have far more 'extras' than you'd get in a 911 for free..........

Braked Towing capacity (whatever that is :? ):

3.2 3,500kg

S 3,500kg

Turbo 2,500kg

Now that doesnt make sense, it is getting lighter as the car gets more powerful,

Braked, means that the trailer has brakes on it. 3.5 T is pretty good.

Maybe the turbo will do wheelies because of the power!

Oops, that was a typo on my part - they are all 3,500kg

I was multi-tasking Chris....football, food, typing, beer.......it's all too much for me!

I go to my local OPC who dish out Saab's, Cayman's, 997's or Cayenne's
