I know for a fact that I'm getting some Clay and lube (sad I know) for my birthday on Wednesday, but is there anything I should be aware of or special tricks before I set loose on the pride'n'joy?

Make sure it is a well lubed surface otherwise you stand the risk of creating more scratches.

Frequently pull and fold over the clay bar maintaining clean surface.

If you drop it, throw it away and start off again with fresh piece.
