this is a very silly question,

but the oil gauge at the right of the pod cluster, what does it show?

is it oil pressure?

what should be the normal level?

As far as I am aware it the oil pressure gauge. When the car is warm and idling it should be in the middle and when you put your foot down it should go towards to the top.
At least that's what mine does. Whether it's right or not I've no idea!!!!

Is it also right that when the engine is cold the oil pressure gauge should be be at the top??? Cos again that's what mine does!!!

cold engines/oil at idle have a fairly high pressure thats another reason why its best not to give it high revs(say over 3k)from cold as not only are some parts not getting a good covering of oil there's a very real chance of blowing a seal
