Can anybody advise me, I have a 1997 993 C4 and I have just noticed that there is some corrosion on the metal part visible immediately behind the front brake disk. Firstly I am not sure what the part is, and secondly I am not sure if I should be concerned.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Mine had gone v rusty too. (1997 C4)

I took all my wheels off, sanded down and removed all the flaky paint, and then resprayed the bits with hammerite.

I think the part (thin metal circularish plate) is only a guard to keep crap off the back of the disk when splashing through puddles etc, but that's only my unprofessional diagnosis!

I don't think it's anything to worry about,

Will
