Early 911 Advice ?

Hi folks,
I've read with interest some of the "newbie buying advice" threads here and on ddk-online, and am still in the same boat..
I'm trying to source a rhd pre '75 911.
It will not be a daily driver.
I've read Paul Frere's "Porsche 911 Story" book, and have read the last few Porsche Post and one of the "Porsche & 911 World" mags.

There seems to be a premium on the very early cars, but I cannot go later than 74 (mabye early 75 by the time I find one) for import to Ireland or the vrt kicks in bigtime.
I've seen ads for a couple of '74 cars at around the 11 to 12k mark .. is this the going rate with few owners and a good specialist service history ?

I do like the pre '73 styles as well, but the prices there seem to be higher.. Guess good ones are rare.

Anything in particular I should be looking for on a late '74 2.7 Lux ?
The '74 carrera's seem to be madly expensive and out of my league :((

Thanks,
Declan

I would say that the PCGB is prob' the best source of info on the historic models.....

I think most folk here are prob late 80's 911 at the earliest !

and most are 964/993/996 era's

You can get a 1972/1973 911T or S??? For £10-£12k, at least from what I've seen in the back of 911 and PW.

I think these are probably the coolest 911s ever, so good luck.

OK Folks,
Thought there wasn't much sign of the earlier cars in here, but worth asking anyway.

Cheers,
Declan

Thanks Greg.
I found those alright from googling.
There is some good info on the 356-911.com site.

Cheers,
Declan
