Hello:

Good fun, character, performance, low depreciation - if you get one you'll want to drive it every day!

Bad: money pit if you pick a wrong 'un.

Drive a couple or three, check body for repairs particularly under bonnet carpet for frontal damage, and rust to wings, filler cap, under light surrounds etc. Heavey clutch means it may be in the way out (£750 ish), G50 should be relatively smooth (but not modern feel), oil pressure should be 1 bar per 1000 rpm and not drop when warm. Little smoke at start-up is ok, but should clear quickly (top end £3000 ish).

Loads of other threads, but if you think you find the right one, get a PPI with leak test.

Best of luck!

Thank you for all the information and help. Looked at one needs seats replaced and a paint job by the look of the pictures that the seller sent me. It is up for £13000

£13000 and it needs a respray and new seats?? Sounds way too expensive to me. That work indicates high mileage (a lot of Porsches get clocked) and/or it hasn't been looked after very well.

You should be able to find a much better one for that kind of money, they are great cars. Don't buy the first one you see!!
