Hi folks,

Does anyone know how I would go about painting a plastic trim to anthracite grey?

I am toying with buying a cheap stereo from aliexpress which is designed to fit straight into the 997 but it comes with a black surround. I have a PCM 2.1 so would want this to be grey to match.

Anybody got any idea how to spray the trim to match?

Cheers
Richard

Richard, the silver trim on the 997.1S is called galvarno ,on the non S its called volcano . the galvarno does not seem have a paint code but GTsilver seems to be a pretty close match . the Aftermarket facias for Double din are available in silver as well as black . they are a very good match but if money was no object and you really wanted OE Porsche made a silver facia for the Japanese export market as they came new with aftermarket head units but the facia is about £350 whereas the silver aftermarket facia is about £35/40. It sounds like you are buying one of the aftermarket head units shaped to fit into the entire gap with no facia in which case I suggest you look at GT silver as the paint code to use. hope that answers your question mate.

Yes I was thinking of one of these:

Looks like a plug and play option (I would need the Bose adaptor as well) but at that price it might be worth a shot.

But the surround is black, so need to colour code it somehow.
