I have a 02 996 C2 Tip Cab. It has had some electrical faults I bought this car at auction as a project.

I have other threads looking for parts. Maybe I am posting in the wring forum or sub forum.

Does anyone have any information as to how to test a bose amp 996 645 339 00 and booster amp 996 645 341 00 These are pre MOST and are original for the model and year.

I have done full continuity testing on the loom connections and all wires are good so no melted wires or broken wires etc.

These are very expensive to replace so wondered if there was a way to test the components on a bench.

Any help or advice appreciated as the world of the 911 is new to me and I did not find anything on the forum or using google fu.

Cheers
Spart

PostPosted: Sun Mar 22, 2020 1:05 pm    Post subject: Confused about the wiring and no sound Reply with quote

The mystery is that there are no cables in the yellow plug in the back of the HU apart from 1 12v suppy lead.

This yellow plug seems to the be HU output to the amps providing FL FR RR RL outputs. As there are no cables then no sound. However to confuse me further the brown plug which seems to contain all the correct coloured cables for the speakers is plugged into the HU!

My understanding from many many hours of Google Fu is that the AMPS talk to the speakers not the HU!

I have replicated this post and a numbers of the plug and wiring pictures in my other thread. Hopefully there are other Audio savvy readers and owners out there that understand this BOSE setup and can demystify the situation somewhat.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Spart
