997 steering wheel refurbed by the amazing jack from royal steering wheels in great missenden.

Amazing finish and value too.

Stayed with all black leather (as it's a daily and alcantara does wear) thicker wheel and dark grey stitching.

£200 all in and had a loan wheel for a week so could drive the car still.

now having handbrake cover done too. http://royalsteeringwheels.com/

Looks great quality - but much too thick to my eyes. Or is it just the camera angle that makes it look out of proportion?

he did make it a little smaller i think and bit thicker but spot on

just like a merc or BMW wheel and as how Porsche should have made them. always hated the oem 997 skinny wheel

I agree. Looks nice but way to chunky for me. It must feel like grabbing someone by the arm.

Nothing wrong with it though if that's what you like. It's a personal preference.
I've come from 80's and 90's cars though and prefer a thin, delicate wheel that twitches away, full of feedback.

slight exaggeration there with the arm!! its only marginally thicker and maybe the angle? still the same feel from the steering and the niggling away. its a 2wd not a 4wd. main thing is the leather is not moving in your hand when turning as the old one was shot to bits!!

each to their own as you say. at least its not shiny and looking 15 years old like it did!!

That looks great at a reasonable cost as well.
Looking to do the same myself but maybe a little thinner.

He is great value and good finish too

He can do straight oem Refurb and standard thickness

I had my 997 wheel and handbrake cover done by Jack from RSW, some time ago. I was very pleased with the result! Even though the steering wheel was only slightly thicker (he just covers over the original leather), it felt much nicer to hold IMHO and the finish of the leather and stitching looked OEM.

I have attached some before and after photos below, the light was not great on the 'after' pics, but should give a good idea of finish / look.

very nice and i like the perforated leather too. I was close to doing that and seeing yours I am thinking maybe I should

as you say its only a tiny bit thicker but the feel is so much better and feels right.

got my handbrake cover back today and amazing job on that too and matches the steering wheel too.

amazing price for 240 all in!!
