So whats your favourite generation of 911s in order? Favourite to least purely on aesthetics.

(People might hate me for this one).

964
911 Classic
997
991
996
992
993

Ooh, bun fight!

Well, the 996 is definitely the pig.

INCOMING......

Many would agree! It's the odd one of the bunch for sure.

But I find the 993 the least attractive, blasphemy I know..

Best looking = joint first 993 and 997
Middle = the rest
Worst looking = 996

Also rather depends on whether you include the car's interior in your opinion, or just the exterior.

list needs adjusting :D

eg ...911 classic .. that needs to be split as there is a huge difference in looks between a 1965 swb and a 1989 turbo

1. 997
2. 964
3. 911 Classic
4. 991
5. 993
6. 992
7. 996

This is my list, but appearances aren't everything: despite my struggles with the front end of the 996, it's probably the next 911 that I'd actually buy. It is extremely unlikely that I'll ever be able to pull the trigger on a 991 or 992, as they're just so expensive (in this country), or on a decent classic or 964 as they're so valuable.

Wow you're brave OP!

Its a hard question, as there are derivatives in each range which are excellent.
For example, the Mk 1 996 GT3 is one of the best looking 911s, IMHO, and the rear three-quarter view of the 996 4S Coupe is great. Similarly, the 997 Sports Classic is a favourite for me, but I find the other 997s OK but a bit nondescript, almost as if the designers were told not to be controversial after the 996. The 993 RS, turbo and S's look great, but I find the front of the standard 993 bland vs the earlier air-cooled cars.

Lovin the thread :floor:

for what its worth 964 & 993 for me for a million reasons :thumb:

the rest all on the same level for different reasons to each other

last the 996 because you just cannot get past the front end or the interior :hand:

997
964
993
992
991
Best of the rest Rest
996,

Ha! not like anyone would give biassed answers is it!!

Anyway....

911t
993
964
.
.
.
.are there any proper ones after these?

911 Classic

WC:
991
997
992
996

The 996.1 GT3 is beautiful by far and away the best looking 996, but I'm biased I own a 996 C4 Aerokit which is a poor man's GT3.

Theres exceptions in every range the 993 GT2 is the best looking 911 ever in my opinion, but the 993 Carrera is butt ugly.

I don't know why all this time wasting discussing the 993 at anywhere other than 1st place.

All right then, maybe a 2.8 RSR.

The two that make my toes curl are flat front impact bumper cars and 964 Targa's :shooter:
