Do you reckon it would be worth the time and cost to de-Croydonify (remove the wing, fit original wheels etc.) to return it to factory spec, or would be wiser to spend a bit more on a tidier non molested/written off example?

Judging by some of the other cars on the driveway, you can imagine whet the owner/seller looks like.

On face value, given it hasn't had more hits than Elvis, it would be definitely with a look at £18k.
Let's imagine you get another 150k(not unreasonable to expect) out of the engine. At 10k per year, that's 15 years of driving.
So long as it's a high miler, and that's it. Defs worth a look there is a couple of bucks in that wing on eBay as well.

High miles, cat D, needs to be half retail price. It’s not far off! Little bit cheaper not sure there’s much to lose, seats look well too.

Seats look like they don't belong Question

I know, it's because they are a different colour Floor

My money is that the airbags went off on them and he found a bargain red pair Thumb

Take the silly wing off, do a few jobs, get a service & bobs your uncle,
no one knows the mileage anyway. Gen2 911 for nice money.

If you can test it check it out 1st & get some money off then very tempting.

If you're buying around Christmas/New Year, you should be able to pick up a bargain for cash.

This isn't so bad, just swap the rims for some not-black ones, remove the dreadful "privacy" dark glass, and remove and flog the wing, and Bob's Your Uncle.

And you might even be able to sell that plate to someone else aspiring to pretend to be driving a GT2.

MOT history is very good and it seems like it's just become an un-used car (2k miles in the last 3 years). It's priced right for what it is and is a perfectly viable option for someone with a sub-£20k budget.

Whether it's worth the effort to turn it back to original ....... Dont know

end of day you could get this for 10 k more from a reputable dealer with half the miles Thumb
Sort of is what it is, at 20k it’s too much, needs to be 17.5 k Thumb

Sorry meant to put a link

Alarm bells ring on this car, something just dont look right!! Seats? Strange.. if air bags were triggered on the original seats then what are the chances of getting the Red over Black, you can find Black seats almost anywhere but the geezer found Red???

The spoiler is hideous, will take some to put back to standard look!!

I wouldnt touch!! Seems like theres more to a Hidden history.

Guys that's less than Ford Focus money these days! Buy it, abuse it, track it, rally it but keep changing the fluids no bore score worries! Park it in Tescos and enjoy it.
The red seats? Not a problem you can't see them when you're sat on them!
And in many years time it will still be worth £20k if we're still allowed to drive
unsupervised by 2030?
Naturally I wouldn't condone treating any of my cars like this other than the trusty 'Meatball' hewn from Swedish granite!

Hmm I’m in two minds - part of me says run a mile, but also having a cheap used model that I can actually use without worrying and feeling like I need to slather it in Zaino and keep it in a climate controlled garage (which obviously... I don’t have) definitely appeals, assuming the mechanicals are good.

Having said that I would be embarrassed to even park it on the street until that wing and number plate came off though... (all personal plates spell TW4T to me)

Oh dear. That last remark has probably just alienated you to 50% of the members on here including 3/4 of those that have tried to help you on this thread. nooo

Apologies... no offence intended to owners of personal plates, they just aren't for me but I understand that is an opinion that I should probably keep to myself.

Thanks to all for the genuinely helpful comments and thoughts - they are much appreciated and I hope I haven't annoyed you all!

For your penance, you should buy the car and then try and sell the number plate on here for a rediculous sum. That will soon cure you of your sins. Floor Floor Floor
If you're wondering what I'm on about, have a look in the plates for sale section, make sure you have a glass of your favourite tipple in hand, it can be rather entertaining.
