Is it just a ropey body or have they messed the engine up as well?

Why on Gods Green Earth...?

A lot of money for a bunch of very ugly body panels. Do they pay you to take it away, then?

...but this man's an icon, much revered for his design ideas and implementation in the greater Porsche circles. Allegedly.

A touch of the emperor's new clothes, methinks.

Hand Remember where you all are in relation to air-cooled values and how close you are to the precipice Rolling Eyes

The mean line is circa 25 bags territory

Hilarious! I don’t even need to put the item number into an eBay search to know exactly which car you are talking about. It’s a total pile of butt.

The 200k miles car has gone for less than 25 bags I believe. Provenance and history appeared exceptional.

Hopefully the new owner will pop up on here.

Interesting graph Zingari.... it in some way seems close to matching the rise in wealth in the US of the top 1% just before the Wall street crash of 1929 and now that the top 1% have re-emerged, a very similar rate of rise can be noted on the distribution of wealth in their favour in graph form beginning around the seventies or thereabouts........ perhaps different in that the FALL is yet to happen...?

if a ultra clean 964 was bought in 2009 for £16k and a similar car is advertised at circa £52K today and that average earnings have in no way matched anything like that rate of rise, it seems borrowing and values thus attributed to air cooled Porsches look a tad like a bubble set to pop..? All that without mentioning Brexit, the impending election or that Climate change is on every newscast.... hmm..?

Interesting times indeed.. Question Old

Ludds don't tell Jonttt as he'll be around with the rose tinted view and no doubt highlighting this 'example' - Again as buyers will look at the odometer they'll run to the hills at this price Floor £112k for a 106k mile C4 What choppers Rolling Eyes

I suspect you can advertise a commodity for any price you care to attach though I also suspect if you want or need to sell it then it is best to adopt a measure of realism...?

I picked up on this relative to restrictions on usage of Classics in a part of OZ..I think there are "road tax" advantages if one cares to register older cars in a different category, though to do so it seems you have to conform to the following

Use is restricted to 2000miles or 3000km per year and must be for one of these three
1. Events organised or approved by clubs affiliated with the Council of ACT Motor Clubs;
2. Occasional test runs of up to a 40km radius; and,
3. Specific occasions not related to club use such as weddings when permission is first obtained from the appropriate club.

I think there is encouragement in the UK to segregate Classics of a certain age to be REGISTERED in a different category, with the "advantage" of no longer requiring to be MOT`d...? Kinda like the advantages of free stuff to suck you in to a deal, where the future cost implications are not fully disclosed until it is too late..? Once you have signed up to be categorised differently then rules can be altered so much easier to suit that category and do not affect the mainstream.... OK, OK, so I have slipped into a bit of a conspiracy theory mindset.... Though apply climate change thinking if you will.... I suspect spending wads on an air cooled, might not be thought too wise...? Though looking at the current OZ regs above it seems garage queens might still retain a measure of value with that sort of mileage available.... at the moment... though things can change FAST... Question

Remember Harrogate is the home of a certain Andrew Mearns, maybe his sales techniques are rubbing off on the locals!

I think I saw that car at a show and it didn't look pretty then.
