Anybody got a recent idea of OPC labour rates, only I've been told today it is £127.50 + vat per hour to trace a moisture leak?

Is this correct for a 996?

I know the service rates are less than the newer cars but I also thought that the hourly rate was lower but I can't find it if it is? I'm sure they can confirm with a phone call.

If it was me, I would be asking an indy for this type of labour intensive investigation as the bills could spiral out of control

Non-discounted labour rate at Tonbridge OPC is currently £150+VAT so they've probably quoted you the 'classic' rate.

For anything that doesn't require a stamp in the book I'd go to 'Project 9' at Marden and pay £85+VAT. NB They don't take credit cards.

Opc as T8 said tend to be around the £150 + vat mark .. Indys are around £80 plus vat in this general area .

I would obviously recommend an Indy Very Happy

What part of the car is wet ? .. i've traced one or two water leaks in my time is all so happy to comment further .

Cheers guys, I think it is a door seal and have told them that as there is a patch of mould on the inside of the drivers door near the seal.

Recently was quoted for a service at RPM in herts of £75 per hour. Bizarrely OPC East London came in cheaper but didn't list their hourly rate, overall it was cheaper though?

Door membrane .. pretty common .

@ Macca38 ... classic car rates i would assume .. some OPC still do them .. i would humbly suggest if a minor service then fine but if a major then get an Indy on it .. we do a wee bit more than they do ..

My garage and i assume all Indys do this on a major ..

We remove all the undertrays and check the pipes ..

We remove all the wheels and do the brake fluid change from both brake nipples , fair enough often one or more are seized but we will say this ..

We wax oil all the brake pipes and some parts of the coolant / a/c pipes that need a little love .

we sand down and paint the brake disc hubs ..

we sand down and paint the wheel bolts ..

We remove the rear discs to clean and inspect the handbrake shoes ..

On a cab we remove the rear arch liners and clean out the rear drains .. Not a separate chargeable item .

4 Yr airbag check is included in the price .. not a separate chargeable item .

Drive belt check is included .. not a separate chargeable item .

The above was never done at an OPC ... can't say these days but the service sheet is still the same so i doubt it .

I think you get the idea ..

Basically .. Indys have to work harder to get the work .. it's not all about cost though .. it's about service !

No Porsche Loan cars .. basic coffee but we do provide it .. a warm waiting room if needed and a TV plus internet .

Just to give you an idea anyways Very Happy
