We are having our summer holiday this year dragging our 993 round the alps etc again after last years trip.

http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=134206&highlight=

I’ve never been to a Formula 1 race so first port of call will be Spa for a few nights to take in practice, qualifying and the race.

Anyone else going this year ? Anyone got any advice who has gone before ?

Ta

I did the same in 2018, I'd never been to an F1 race but when I did I wanted it to be Spa. We camped just down the road from one of the entrances and the camp site had good bar and entertainment, Eddie Jordan and Martin Brundle plus music. I would use the same site again if I was to go back, it was with Camping F1.

My wife and I did it a few years ago although sadly not in a Porsche as we didnt have one then. We also used F1 Camping - it was great having food available on site and also a coach shuttle to the race.

Spa was our first F1 and it was amazing as we entered at Eau Rouge just as the GP2 cars were coming out to practice - noise was incredible back then.

Afterwards we drove through Germany, stopped in Baden Baden for a couple of nights, had a few nights in the French Alps, drove to Italy, stayed at Lake Lecco and then went to Monza GP on practice and race day and drove home to Manchester on the Monday / Tuesday.

Great trip, fond memories and future dreams of doing something similar.

Hi thanks for the feedback. We are using Camping F1 too and our grandstand is on Eau Rouge. Really looking forward to it and then two weeks of touring. I fancied getting to Monza too, we haven’t ruled it out yet.

My last two foreign F1 Gps were at Spa and Monza.

At one I got absolutely drenched. At the other I almost got sunstroke.

No prizes for guessing which was which. Grin

Have fun. Thumb
