Hi all bye

I have an update from the show organisers...

    1. Our usual parking/display area has been reserved for 20-25 911uk cars. More space can be made available if needed (with enough notice).
    2. The entrance cost is €30 per car including driver and a passenger.
    3. To make things easier for all of us the organisers are going to bend their own rules again and allow you to pay cash on the gate (for groups they usually ask for payment in advance and post the tickets a week or 2 before the show). This is on the understanding everyone arrives with the correct payment ready to avoid queues.

I hope this helps Wink

Cheers,
L'rs

Great, thanks Ian
I assume you will be happy to help with the various itineraries and hotels etc etc once some plans start to evolve 😉
Cheers

Hi Paul

The level of my involvement will be determined by the number of people. Last year I spent hours and hours working on several different options with hotels, the Porsche museum/restaurant/factory, Spa, etc. and in the end only a very small number of people asked me to arrange anything for them.

Let's see how things evolve and take it from there Wink

Cheers,
L'rs

The list is growing,,,,,superb stuff, Is Kush bringing his mobile phone! I am already smiling

What are you all thinking about itinerarys and dates for the travel over ?

Show day is a Friday, I am thinking travel over tuesday or wednesday at the very latest. I will be coming back to the Uk on Saturday early AM

some ideas:
Spa (again?)
Champagne region / epernay, actually make a champagne / cellar tour this time maybes
A few car museums if possible, one in Belgium (AutoWorld https://www.autoworld.be/home) euro10 to get in ? just a suggestion and almost on route to Spa
Michael Suhumacher private collection in Colone (https://www.privatecollection.ms/) free entry
of course a stop off at classic remise in Dusseldorf

Anyway just some ideas

Farook of the west , here a pic of Kush just for you Floor

I have told Kush this years dress code and he's sorting something ( I may or maynot have mentioned that a Turkish bloke wearing a mankini would fit the dress theme this year lol) was Aladdin from Persia Floor Floor

If the show is Friday and we are returning home Sat then I will probably look to travel start Wed with a stop over somewhere wed night . I like the idea of either auto world Belgium or I did enjoy the stop we did last year in Reims which is Champagne region I think, but try to do the cellar tour this time lol. I liked Spa the year before and would consider that option especially as you dont get to drive the spa circuit very often even if we are at reduced speed and maybe sound for me this time( note to self better check the exhaust valved option is still working and I can turn the exhaust to quiet ) Floor Floor as I dont want another rollocking from the race control room for hooning down the straight past the stands at 133db Cool Cool Grin Thumb

A couple of snippets regarding Le Shuttle booking and crossings:

(1) The Le Shuttle Website has changed so that you need to specify your car. This means that the option to choose a high level carriage can't be selected as the system will automatically know how high your car is and allocate you a place in a standard carriage.

I took advice from a helpful bloke on the phone who suggested that I tick the box saying that I was carrying a pushbike on the roof. Sure enough my booking confirmation shows that I have been allocated a place in a high level carriage.

(2) Be advised that the Dutch F1 GrandPrix at Zandvoort takes place on Sunday 4th May and I reckon a lot of Brits will be going so if your itinerary includes a Thursday 30th April outward trip and/or a Sunday 4th/ Monday 5th May return trip it's advisable to book early as I'm sure prices will go up and availability will be reduced.

There is a way around that Terry...

Where you are prompted to enter your car reg click on "make and model".
Click "type and size".
Tick the box under the car symbol.
The questions you used to be asked are then displayed (height, trailer, etc.).
Select "more than 6ft / 1.85m".

Cheers,

Change of plan. I’m coming along now without her indoors! Booked the Super8 for the Thu and Fri nights. Not booked the tunnel yet as I was wondering what crossing people are on to meet up?

I've also booked the Super8 for those dates and would be up for travelling over as a group. I don't live too far from the tunnel, so can be flexible on departure times. Anyone else interested?
