First time having attended VMAX for many years I've seen an owner push his car up and down the starting queue. The joys of TVR ownership - his Mrs even helps him what a treat of a day out for her! Grin

Great event, it's the day you realise the car you've brought isn't actually that fast lol.
Any results?

Not been for a while myself. When you've done it a few times the novelty wears out a bit. Might do it again next year. How did your car perform Imi?

What an amazing day!

Good to see Imi in the UK!

I completely smashed my expectations, hitting my 7300 rpm limiter well before the timing beam and hitting 207.2 mph!

My car is still on the standard exhaust...

That’s very impressive. Have to say I’m not massively surprised. I was seeing 150 on the long straight at Bedford last week. Imagine what it would be like with a stage 1 Question

Will do Next time Jin. My 2nd time on the GT circuit, first time I was in the Astra van. This time the 718. My stock 718 with pse on triggered the drive by noise meter!

I’ll be back there next year as it’s so local.

210mph Smile

IATS were quite high starting at 46/47c and I arrived with too much pump fuel which made for some interesting races.

9e 997.1 turbo (manual) v 2018 991.2 turbo s.

Will post up against Mcl 570s if organisers send to me too. Similar result. Not bad for a 13 yr old manual turbo with 90,000 miles. 18 runs of which last 3 were quickest when MS109 started flowing through properly.

The 991.2 turbo S is a monster of a weapon so no, not bad at all!

Do you have to wear lids now? I did one a bit back and lids weren't required.

I was just curious to see how mine fared against all the loony tune petrol head brigade. And it fared very well, exceeding my expectations thumbsup

Thanks chaps.

Lids compulsory at VMAX nowadays.

Sachs 890 clutch. Not quite as nice as the stock clutch to use but holds the power without any slip at all.

I've just been sent a few pics of a 9ff 997.1 turbo and GTR which were running on the day. Can't see clearly how bad the damage is to GTR but the 997 is a write off.

All I can say is thank God it was very wet and boggy in the farmers field on the day I went off after running 215mph on my first ever run at RAF Kendrew. I was a victim had no chance worn tyres/brakes or new tyres/brakes but thankfully didn't get a huge repair bill and my car still original panel and now mint.

There is definitely not enough braking zone at this venue (especially in the wet but even in perfect conditions for cars running 220mph +) and my own view is someone may well get hurt or worse one day.

I'm going to give this event a miss unless it moves back to Bruntingthorpe. Those who think braking zone sufficient f clueless.
