Head unit ISO lead type...What type do I need?

Having read many head unit swap threads with various pcm types I'm still a little confused.

My car is a 2003 with the bose MOST optical interface and a PCM 2 unit.

In order to wire in an aftermarket stereo I assume all I need is a MOST adapter like this?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B079D9GR65/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A6BRD1VZWQ5V9&psc=1

Do I even need an ISO adapter as I'm guessing all I need is find a +12v, 0v and a ignition switched 12v ?

If its easier to use an ISO adapter I'm assuming a basic one as i was confused what this active lead was for?

Thanks

Done some digging and found that the active adaptors generate the 12v ignition feed from the vehicles CAN-Bus signal for the aftermarket radio to switch on and this ignition feed will only be available with full ignition.

Is love someone to just come up with a complete shopping list for converting a Bose system on a 996 to a new (arbitrary) double-din headunit.

Is that shopping list different, for example if you have PCM2 or (as I do) the CRD-23 single din unit?

Seems to me we need not just a MOST HUR thing but also some harnesses?

I have the PCM 2 din unit in my 2003 996. It has the Bose Most Optical fibre system fitted also.
I am putting in a 2 Din Pioneer unit and already have the cage with it.

All I have purchased is the following

Fakra to DIN Aerial Adaptor £2.99

996 Wiring connector £9.89

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Most Optical Fibre Decoder (this works despite it saying 2005-2012) £72.99
This is a good price as nearly all other places are twice the price

The active part of the wiring connector I found I didn't need and cut off but it gave me the 0V and 12v connection I needed without having to tap into the oem loom connections.

I tapped off a connection from the 20 pin Aircon controls Blue/Black wire and ran that to the rear of the stereo for the ACC or switched 12v ignition most stereos will require.
It was all pretty straight forward really and now I've done this I'm happy to help advise anybody else if you're thinking about it.

Here's a pic of my Oem to Iso Loom when finished. The red bullet is the connection that requires the ACC Signal I referred to.

Thanks

It's just a Pioneer MVH-AV290BT that I had in my previous car a couple of years ago (nothing special).

Any modern unit will now just plug in and work. I've not done anything special that hasn't already been done. I intend to swap this unit out with something like a Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB soon as I want the Android Auto feature really.

I will wire in my reversing camera soon too once I've figured out where to route the cables and watched a few youtube tutorials.
