Hello there,

I recently purchased my first Porsche, a lovely 03 996 Carrera 4S. The previous owner removed the exhaust muffler (removed not bypassed) to give the car a thirstier sound.

As a newbie I'm not sure of the impact of this. Is it anything to worry about?

Thank you,

Rob

Aside from your hearing and relationship with your neighbours!!!!! I assume it's loud!!

Are you saying the car has no silencers? There should be two in parallel. Are the catalytic converters still fitted?

Either way the impact will be no ability to meet track day noise regulations and I would have thought some difficulty come MOT.
