As per the title really, I’m looking at one of Phil’s cars and have been in discussions and so far it’s a good experience.

There’s plenty of positive stuff on google but wondered if anyone here had any constructive views?

Thinking about part exchanging my 2002 C4S for his 996 turbo coupe.

Thanks in advance

2002 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S

I sold a 4S on SOR via Phil 10 yrs ago, and bought my current 4S off him 4.5 yrs ago. Lovely guy to deal with, would definitely recommend.

Nice drive home too over the Downs, after a celebratory cappuccino and cake overlooking the sea at Bosham!

The turbo looks good in the pics, though the headlights may need a wet sand and polish, if you are terminally fussy like me...

Thank you - that was the feeling I got but very nice to hear from people who have had first hand experience. And I agree about the headlights too Smile

Lets see, does he still have his fingers on invoice paperwork

not forgetting his history of flogging crashed cars without revealing the car's history

or lets use a magazine to become a self appointed specialist but isn't called Andrew Mearns

and you have to wonder why he's not on this site

Is this him Chris? Wink

Yes he was trying to punt on that damaged red Mk2 GT3 the other month when every man and his dog knew that it had been damaged yet his advert mentioned nothing. An innocent mistake? Perhaps, but traders generally know what they’re selling.

I treat them all the same. I’m buying the car not the salesman.
I would say that there are a few who consistently seem to come out above others, and they’re the only ones that I would actually trust to stand by a car. 911V, RPM etc. I’m sure there are more but they are the ones I’ve personally dealt with or know people who have.

I went to see a 964 to purchase around a year ago, which he sold as I was driving down - a bit frustrating as I let him know well in advance that I'd be coming with a view to buy it, and had he let me know someone else was interested I may have come down earlier or at least provided a deposit. Fair enough, it's my fault I didn't put a deposit down.

When I got there Philip was very friendly, had a good chat with him and found him very personable - I certainly would buy from him if the right car came up, but as Marky has said, you're buying the car not the salesman.

We discussed the other 964 he had for sale, which I didn't end up liking and there was no pressure or 'sales tactics' at all, just what appeared to be an honest guy trying to sell a few Porsches. I don't know about his past but from what I saw of him he was fine.
